Quarter 1, 2022: News and Updates for CASA Donors

Letter from the Executive Director

Dear CASA Donors:

Happy New Year! Each January, I like to take a look at CASA's challenges and achievements of the past year while looking forward to what we hope to accomplish in the coming 12 months.

The year 2021 proved our strength. Despite the ever-changing pandemic obstacles and the fact that child abuse cases continue to be referred to us at a higher-than-normal rate, CASA of the Pikes Peak Region is stronger than ever. Financially, we are on solid ground which you will see in our 2020-2021 annual report set to be published later this month. We closed out the calendar year with our Santa's Shop and teen holiday party which lifted the spirits of 283 children. Our staff returned to the office full time in 2021 and we successfully hosted in-person Light of Hope North and Light of Hope Teller events.

We are cautiously optimistic about returning to an in-person format for our flagship Light of Hope fundraiser this April. In addition to fundraising, the year ahead will see CASA grow its efforts to embrace inclusion and diversity across all facets of our organization. We will also strive to recruit more volunteers than ever by holding more advocate trainings than we have held in previous years. This is an important task because, as you know, our number one goal is to serve each and every child who needs us.

Thank you for standing by CASA as we work to change the lives of vulnerable children this year and for many years to come.

Wishing you all a happy 2022.

Warmly,
Angela

Partner Spotlight: Local businesses empower CASA to serve more kids

CASA could not carry out its mission to advocate for vulnerable kids without the support of our many donors – including business partners. Last year, business partner support amounted to $135,000 which provided advocates to 112 kids.
