Letter from the Executive Director Dear CASA Volunteers, Happy fall! We have finally rounded that corner toward the end of the year and I hope you all are enjoying the cool weather and looking forward to the holiday season as much as I am. CASA recently held its third annual Light of Hope Teller fundraising breakfast (in-person!) and I am pleased to report that we raised over $20,000 for the kids in Teller County! Next up is Light of Hope North which is a fundraising lunch in Black Forest. To learn more about that event or to RSVP, please click here. In addition to fundraising events, we've also been quite busy recruiting new volunteers. We had a very successful in-person Dudes & Brews last week, as well as a handful of other volunteer information sessions. While the influx of children coming into CASA because of the pandemic reached its height last year and then declined somewhat, we still see more children each month than we did before COVID-19. Right now, about 30 kids per month are referred to CASA's Dependency & Neglect program whereas before COVID, that number was 20. Because we still have many children to advocate for, we are so grateful for your commitment to your role at CASA. We would welcome your friends or family to learn more, so please invite them to check out our website or RSVP to an upcoming information session. We just started planning our next CASA-wide Volunteer Impact Event which will take place after the New Year. More information will be available on that in the coming months. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at angelar@casappr.org if you have questions or concerns. Warmly, Angela | |
