May 2021: News, Updates, and Opportunities for CASA Volunteers

Letter from the Executive Director

Dear CASA Volunteers,

I hope you all are having a nice May so far. With the weather warming up and the pandemic restrictions lifting a bit, it has been nice to see more of your faces in and around the office. I look forward to the day when we gather in person to celebrate all we have accomplished together over the past year.

Did you know that May is National Foster Care Month? At any given time, there are 424,000 children in foster care in the United States. As CASA volunteers here in the Pikes Peak Region, you are part of a movement comprised of more than 96,000 volunteers in 948 state or local programs that make a difference for these kids.

Being a CASA volunteer is a tough job and we are proud to work with each and every one of you. To acknowledge your commitment and compassion, National CASA is partnering with FosterStrong to host the first-ever CASA Volunteer's Day on May 18. Click here to read more about signing up for that event! In addition to the National CASA celebration, we will also be handing out CASA swag to any volunteer who stops by the office on Tuesday the 18th! (while supplies last)

As always, thank you for all that you do! Please share our upcoming volunteer information sessions with your friends and family, and contact me any time at angelar@casappr.org if you have questions or concerns!

With gratitude,

Angela
