Letter from the Executive Director Dear CASA Volunteers, Happy New Year! I hope you are looking forward to a happy 2021. I know that 2020 was a difficult year for most of us. That being said, I think it is important to applaud ourselves for the successes we had over the past twelve months. For me, the biggest success CASA saw in 2020 was tackling all pandemic-related challenges head-on to ensure vulnerable children still received the support they needed. This could not have been accomplished without all of you. So thank you for your dedication to the children you serve! Another success we had was our excellent stewardship of donations with 87 cents of every dollar raised being put directly into programs. You'll be able to read more about this in our 2020 annual report which should be available by early next month. A few reminders as we head into next year: First, all active volunteers must complete the Mandatory Sexual Abuse Awareness Training by the end of this month if you have not done so already. If you cannot find the original email with the training link, please email Deb at debrac@casappr.org and she will resend it to you. It is important to not share links amongst each other because each of you has a unique link that allows us to track your participation. Secondly, as El Paso and Teller counties move to different levels on the Colorado COVID-19 dial, we will update our COVID-19 webpage and send emails as necessary. We informed you of some changes last week. If you missed that email, you can see all updated information here. Thank you all for all you do for our community's children! I look forward to seeing many of your faces at the second Annual CASA-wide Volunteer Impact Event over Zoom on Feb. 22. As always, please email me at angelar@casappr.org with any comments or concerns. Warmly, Angela |
