Quarter 4, 2020: News and Updates for CASA Donors

Letter from the Executive Director

Dear CASA Donors:

Happy fall! I hope you and your loved ones are staying healthy and safe, and enjoying the change in seasons. Despite the challenges we have endured throughout the pandemic, CASA staff and volunteers are moving full steam ahead toward 2021 and we thank you for your unwavering support.

We continue to effectively fulfill our mission while following all guidelines from the CDC, Colorado Department of Health, and Fourth Judicial District.  In fact, just last month thirteen new Court Appointed Special Advocates were sworn in over Zoom to bring us to 55 new advocates since March when social distancing first took effect in Colorado. It has been awe-inspiring to see the community come together to help children during this time.

Our volunteer recruitment and training efforts are almost entirely online at present, as are our fundraising activities. Later this month we will hold our first-ever Virtual Light of Hope Teller and our first-ever Light of Hope North Livestream. These events have been important in-person fundraisers in the past and we look forward to garnering the community's support online this year.

Thank you again for your support and if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at angelar@casappr.org.

Warmly,

Angela

Mission Moment: Special Sneakers

It's easy to take for granted the ability to go to a store and buy the shoes you want, but foster teens don't necessarily have that luxury. When The Hanger came through for a teen girl this month, it was a special reminder of why CASA is here and why we do what we do.

Upcoming Events

Oct. 22: Virtual Volunteer Information Session
Oct. 22: Fabrik Shop for CASA Night
Oct. 27: Light of Hope North Livestream
